NICT researcher elevated to Optica Fellow

Dr. Ruben Soares Luís (Executive Researcher of Photonic Network Laboratory, Photonic ICT Research Center, Network Research Institute) was elevated to be a Fellow of the Optica in class of 2026, which is the highest grade of membership. His citation is "For groundbreaking contributions to high-capacity fiber-optic transmission systems".

Fellows are Optica members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics and photonics. The number of Fellows is limited to be no more than 10% of the total membership and the number elected each year is limited to approximately 0.5% of the current membership total.
