As Japan’s sole National Research and Development Agency specializing in the field of information and communications technology, NICT is charged with promoting ICT sector as well as research and development in ICT, which drives economic growth and creates an affluent, safe and secure society.

Recruitment FY2025 for women
NICT will start recruiting female researchers and research engineers on 13 May 2024.This recruitment is a measure to actively improve the proportion of female researchers in our organization and is based on Article 8 of the Equal Employment Opportunity Law (Special Provisions Concerning Measures Concerning Female Workers).

Permanent Researcher(for new master's graduate)
A permanent position with no employment term appointed. The position will be engaged in R&D and may also be involved in management in the future.
A person who is expected to obtain a master’s degree in FY2024, and a person who graduated from a four-year university in 2023 or expected to graduate in 2024 and is equivalent to a master's degree researcher must apply for this position.
Researcher (Tenure-Track)
You will be employed under a fixed-term of 5 years. In principle, you will have the chance to be evaluated and apply for a permanent position during the term.

Fixed Term Researcher
The position will be engaged in research tasks in the relevant field. The employment term will be within the fiscal year, and depending on the job, the contract may be renewed for the following fiscal year and onwards. This position applies to the labor contract specified in Article15-2 of the "Act on Improving the Capacity, and the Efficient Promotion of Research and Development through Promotion of Research and Development System Reform."
Research Engineer
Permanent Research Engineer
A permanent position with no employment term appointed. The position requires high expertise and technical skills as it will be engaged in software and system development, operation and development of demonstration systems, and field testing to create and implement new technology into society concerning information and communications. The position may also be involved in management in the future.
