"Assessing the Impact of Satellite Earth Observation on Society and Policy"
December 8, 2015
NICT organized an International Advisory Board on 9-10 November 2015 in Tokyo jointly with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Keio University, and Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), in support of the project funded by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), with the goal of "Assessing the Impact of Satellite Earth Observation on Society and Policy". A series of discussions invited perspectives from experts to understand how Earth observations contribute to environmental and other policy-making, and how space agencies establish links between their programmes, scientific advance, industrial innovation, and societal well-being. The Advisory Board concluded with some key findings from the two days of meetings.
