NICT advertises for Fixed Term Employee (Researcher, Technical Researcher and Administrative Specialist).

  Classification of Fixed Term Employee

The employment types of  Fixed Term Employee at NICT are as follows.

 Job Title Weekly Working hours  Explanation
Fixed Term Researcher Full time or more than 28hours

PhD holders or those who are equal to PhD holders (those who are scheduled to receive a PhD can also apply.)
Short-Term Researcher Less than 28 hours
Fixed Term Technical Researcher Full time or more than 28hours

Positions under this title involve requiring advanced knowledge and skill in science and technology for research and development
Short-Term Technical Researcher Less than 28 hours
Fixed Term Administrative Specialist Full time or more than 28hours

Administration or support positions including research, technical or administrative and clerical support

Flow of Recruitment

  1. Acceptance of application documents (Postal mail or web entry)
  2. Documentary screening
  3. Face-to-face, telephone or video interview (only with successful applicants of documentary screening)
  4. Giving a job offer and proposal of working conditions
  5. Agreement to the working conditions
  6. Assumption of a  the post
*Please note that NICT does not bear any expenses for interviews.

  Salary

*A monthly salary is applied to employees who work more than 4 days a week (more than 28 hours), and a daily or hourly wage system is applied to the others.
*The amount of salary shall be determined by taking each employee’s experience and task to be engaged in into account. However, as a basic salary is compliant with government employees’ wages, the basic salary might be changed if government employees’ wages are changed and the labor union and/or other unions agree under a revision to the wages.
*Dependent Allowance, Commuting Allowance, Residence Allowance shall be granted (to employees who work more than 4 days a week and fulfill the requirement for payment).
 

  Period of Employment

From the hiring date to March 31, 2021.
Depending on positions, the expiration date of employment is before March 31, 2021.

*Trial period is the first 1 month of their employment


 

  Vacation Leave

Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and year-end and New-year holiday (December 29-January 3)

  Others(Treatments)

  • A flex-time system is applied to Fixed Term Researchers and Fixed Term Technical Researcher working 37 hours and 30 minutes per week.

    *It is also likely to be applied to Fixed Term Administrative Specialist working 37 hours and 30 minutes per week.
  • A staggered commuting system is applied to Fixed Term Administrative Specialist working 7 hours and 30 minutes per day.
  • An annual paid holiday system stipulated in the Fixed Term Employee rules is available.

Researcher
  • A resume (CV) in a prescribed form(PDF file) (WORD file)　
  • A list of publication (journal articles, verbal presentations, intellectual property right and so on)
  • A research proposal for the subject (free form)
  • Reference letter(s) should be: original text, written within six months, written by people NOT involved in NICT, with recommender’s seal or signature, addressed to “President of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology”. The photocopy(ies) of reference letter(s) is (are) NOT accepted.
Technical Researcher
  •  A resume (CV) in a prescribed form(PDF file) (WORD file)　
  • Employment History (free form)
＊You may be required to submit additional documents for selection.
Administrative Specialist

    ＊Applicants who are currently students and apply for the position need to submit written certificate(s) given by their 　supervisor at the time of interview conducted after paper screening in order to confirm whether they can work within a scope which does not affect study.
